The Story

As you’ve probably already guessed, this Assassins installment is set in the Viking era. Like its predecessors, it’s an Action Role-Playing that you’ll play in Single Player. The game recounts an alternative history of the Viking invasion of Britain. You’ll be in the year 873, starting in the cold North, soon to embark on a journey to Britain.

Upon arrival, you’ll quickly be at war with historic Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia, with all their fighting skills. The game also includes Viking mythology, as can be spotted in the official trailer. It goes without saying that the Isu are also somehow involved in all this.

This is all we know so far about the storyline. Let’s move on to your character, a rugged, tough, ready-for-battle Viking.

Character

Your character’s name is Eivor, a Viking raider who becomes entangled in the conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order. As you might’ve guessed, Eivor is a fearsome warrior, or rather, assassin, and he’s got his work cut out for him. We say him, but in this installment, you’ll be able to have more control over who your character is. You will be able to customize:

●     Male or female

●     Hair

●     Tattoos

●     Clothing

●     War paint

●     Gear

In addition to this, you’ll have more choices in the story, including dialogue choices and

political alliances, all of which affect the world of Valhalla. The developers are also introducing dual-wielding weaponry against more kinds of enemies ever in the game’s history.

The final cool attribute is the share feature. You’ll be able to create your own mercenary which you can then share online so your friends can use him in their game. This works vise versa as well, you can use their custom mercenaries to play along in your game, too. How exactly the details on this will pan out you’ll have to wait and see.
