PC Games

With a laptop and proper specifications, it has become possible to get into the gaming world without gaming consoles. This possibility will mostly come in handy this 2020 as there are lots of cool games to explore. 2020 is indeed being a rollercoaster year, and one great way to soak in the pressure can be through good games. Don’t miss out on the fun. So, let’s get into some of the good 2020 video games that you can play on your computer.

Doom Eternal

This is the fifth installment of the Doom series and is a follow up to the game Doom that was released in 2016. The game is staged in an alluring area of mystery, with you taking the role of an ancient warrior battling the forces of hell, though the first-person perspective. You are known to be the Doom Slayer. As a part of an already established series, the game builds on preceding styles. This includes a “push-forward” combat style as you ruthlessly take down enemies of ammo, health, and armor, amongst other things. The Super Shotgun in the game now has an added accessory of “meat hook” with which you can grab on to enemies and pull yourself towards them. This installment also brings new movement mechanics that can be explored. The game was released in March 2020.

  • Resident Evil 3

A remake of the 1999 Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil 3 continues the legacy of the franchise as a survival horror game. This remake comes with the third-person shooter style, although there is a brief period for which the control will be in the first-person perspective. Essentially, you are to attempt to survive a zombie apocalypse as you are being hunted by The Nemesis, an intelligent bioweapon. However, you would not be doing that alone, as you would meet with some other role-playing characters. Asides an attempted survival, you and other role-playing characters will join forces to ensure a subway path is cleared, as well as putting in place other things. This is to evacuate civilians that are yet to be victims of the zombie apocalypse – or yet to turn into zombies. The game was released on April 3, 2020.

  • Call of Duty: Warzone

This game takes the free-to-play Battle Royale video game style, and is a part of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title, though a standalone. Essentially, you do not need to purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to access it. The game is set in a fictional city and is an online multiplayer combat involving 150 players. It is also the second main installment of Battle Royale in the Call of Duty franchise, with Blackout from the title Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 being the first. Warzone follows the pattern of other Battle Royale games, with added improvement, however. One of the added improvements is the ability to take in 150 players.

You are dropped in the battle arena with a parachute – and do well to drop quickly because you can be shot midair. When in the battle arena, you have to kill, or be killed. Eliminate fellow players. As the game progresses, the map shrinks, and so does the battle arena, until there is a last man standing. Any player outside the battle arena – the playable area – will be subjected to a gas that gradually reduces their health. So, if you are outside the battle arena, your health begins to drop, and if you do not get in the battle arena quickly, you die. Death does not essentially mean elimination, as there are respawn mechanics. One of such is the purchase of a respawn token. Another is fighting in a gulag with a fellow defeated player, having the same weaponry. The winner gets respawned. Other options can be explored. The game was released in March 2020.

Minecraft Dungeon does not have any activity related to building, crafting, and whatnot. Instead, it has to do with being a dungeon crawler game alone. In the game, you – as the player – explore dungeons that are randomly generated. Make no mistake, these dungeons are dangerous as they come. As you explore the dungeons, you are confronted with monsters – monsters that are randomly generated as well. However, there are treasures to be found in these dungeons, and that is what you are gunning for. Asides monsters, there are also traps and puzzles in these dungeons that come in the way of your treasure hunt.
